COP22,

also known as the 22nd Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), stands out on the global stage as a significant climate event. This global summit took place in Marrakech, Morocco, from November 7 to November 18, 2016. Much like a worldwide gathering dedicated to the preservation of our planet, the primary mission of this conference was the fight against climate disruption.

At the heart of the discussions were the precise details regarding the Paris Agreement, a historic pact adopted on December 12, 2015, following COP21, which was held near Paris at Le Bourget. Bright minds from the international community convened in Marrakech to craft concrete mechanisms and actions aimed at implementing the commitments made in Paris.

Hot topics of discussion included North-South financing to support climate initiatives, the delicate issue of losses and damages caused by climate change, as well as specific challenges facing Africa, such as adapting to changing climate conditions and promoting sustainable agricultural practices. COP22 thus emerged as a crucial step in the quest for a greener and more resilient future for our planet.
